The problem
This one wasn't a client. It was ours. A custom-print packaging manufacturer was quoting from three spreadsheets, confirming orders over WhatsApp and tracking production on a whiteboard. Nothing was wrong until volume doubled — then quotes went out with old prices and two orders were printed twice.
What we built
- A quoting tool that prices jobs from the company's own material, print and quantity rules, so every quote is consistent.
- A pipeline view that follows each order from quote → approved → artwork → print → delivered.
- A customer record with every past order, artwork file and price, so repeat orders take one click.
- Role-based access: sales sees prices, the print floor sees only what it needs to run.
How it went
Six weeks from kickoff. Sales stopped quoting from three files, the print floor stopped asking which order was next, and the duplicate print runs haven't happened again. The tool has since grown a customer portal.
